About The Asian Weekly Highlight

The Asian Weekly Highlight will provide highlights on segments of the Council’s substantive work, interactive dialogues, and plenary debate which address or are directly relevant to Northeast, South, and Southeast Asia; more accurately: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.

The Asian Weekly Highlight will also report on the contribution that these States make to the work of the Council, and the plenary participation of Asian NGOs.

The Asian Weekly Highlight strongly recommends its readers to treat ISHR Daily Updates as complementary reading to The Asian Weekly Highlight. ISHR Daily Updates are accessible at http://www.ishr.ch/hrm/council .

Distribution

Three issues of The Asian Weekly Highlight will be produced over the duration of the fourth session; each distributed by 12:00pm Bangkok local time (GMT+7) on the following dates:

Issue 1: Monday, 19 March2007
Issue 2: Monday, 26 March2007
Issue 3: Monday, 2 April 2007
