FORUM-ASIA presented, along with two other NGOs, a statement in an interactive dialogue with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights on 7 March at the 7th session of the UN Human Rights Council.

The joint statement with Asian Legal Resource Centre and Pax Romana expressed “regret at the slow pace towards the establishment of a regional human rights mechanism in the region”, as human rights defenders in Asia face increasing risks and challenges because of their work.

It also shows their concern about a new human rights body proposed by the ASEAN Charter and status of Asian governments and status of national human rights institutions in Asia.
