Finance Officer (G2-3)

FORUM-ASIA is implementing a Project from November 2021 to October 2024 to contribute to an enabling environment for fundamental freedoms and sustainable development in Asia. The Project is implemented through research, capacity building and advocacy activities in six countries (Myanmar, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Mongolia, and Kyrgyzstan). FORUM-ASIA and its implementing partners from the six countries of focus aim to contribute to an enabling environment for marginalised and vulnerable groups, especially:
– Those living in a condition of poverty (including religious & ethnic minorities and vulnerable workers)
– Women and LGBTIQs with various intersectional identities
– Community-based defenders (including indigenous, land and environmental defenders) and WHRDs
– National-level CSOs (including FORUM-ASIA members)

Finance Manager (G4-4) Re-advertise

The Finance Programme oversees the financial resources of FORUM‐ASIA and is in charge of financial reporting to the donors, the planning, organising, auditing, and accounting of FORUM‐ASIA’s finances. The Finance Manager will lead the Finance Programme of FORUM‐ASIA. He/she will be required to assist the Management of FORUM‐ASIA to administer and oversee the office budget(s) and budgeting processes and reporting; work on contract/grant compliance in the financial area in coordination with the relevant programmes; and observe FORUM-ASIA’s accounting policies vis‐à‐vis fund accounting as noted in FORUM‐ASIA’s Financial Rules and Regulations (FRR) and generally accepted accounting principles.

East Asia and ASEAN Programme Manager

The East Asia and ASEAN Programme (EA-ASEAN) provides support for and facilitates communication and cooperation among member organisations in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia on human rights related issues and ASEAN’s human rights mechanisms. In addition, the Programme conducts and coordinates thematic and country campaigns; documentation; capacity building; and advocacy in cooperation with other related Programmes within the Secretariat, focusing on freedom of expression, association, assembly, and civic space.

The East Asia and ASEAN Programme Manager is responsible for the overall management of EA-ASEAN programme focusing on country-level work on fundamental freedoms (approximately 70% of the overall work), and ASEAN advocacy (30%), ensuring synergy of different projects/programmes within the Programme, as well as inter-programme coordination within the Secretariat and with members for effective advocacy, campaigning, and networking.

Consultants Open Call – Fundraising/Resource Mobilisation (Roster)

FORUM-ASIA is looking for experienced Fundraising Consultants to conceptualise and develop competitive donor proposals. Consultants will contribute to diversifying the donor base and increasing the financial sustainability of the Organisation.

Selected candidates will be working with FORUM-ASIA’s Resource Mobilisation Unit and in consultation with FORUM-ASIA staff and senior management team (SMT), members and potential partners. They will coordinate the development of proposals in a consultative manner and in accordance with internal Resource Mobilisation Process Guidelines.

The ideal candidates will have relevant experience and skills in project conceptualisation, design and drafting; organisational budgeting; logical framework and; results-based management. Extensive experience working in the human rights nonprofit sector is essential.

FORUM-ASIA is looking for creative freelance Copy Editors (English), Videographers and Video Editors, Animators, Graphic Designers and Interpreters (Thai/English, Nepali/English) to produce high quality and visualised materials to expand the organisation’s  outreach, both off line and online.

General qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as communication, graphic design, journalism, social science.
  • Practical experiences in creating audience-engaging communication materials
  • Working proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Fluency in an Asian language is highly desirable
  • Professional affiliations and licenses an asset
  • Formal training on communication an asset
  • For interpreters – Ability to interpret from English to Thai/Nepali and vice versa
