South Asia Programme Associate

FORUM-ASIA is hiring an South Asia Programme Associate based in Kathmandu, Nepal. The ideal candidate should have at least Bachelor’s degree or higher in the field of human rights or a related subject such as politics, social sciences, international relations, international law, development studies or South Asian studies; minimum 2 years work experience in the field of human rights; understanding of the overall socio-political situation as well as human rights situation in the South Asia region and good knowledge of the current socio-political situation in South Asia; ability to work as a team member in a multicultural and demanding working environment with cross-programme coordination and ability to speak at least one South Asian language (other than English) would be an asset. Editor

FORUM-ASIA is hiring an Editor for its online publication of a report on Freedom of Expression in Southeast Asia. The editor would be responsible for editing five articles (4000 – 5000 words each), which will be released bimonthly from March to May 2020. The editor would be responsible for factual verification, content editing and overall editing and review of the document.

The ideal candidate must have an excellent command of spoken and written English, and show an aptitude for journalism and / or creative writing. A general understanding of human rights, particularly on freedom of expression and issues of civic space is desirable. Experience writing, editing and fact-checking human rights pieces is desirable. Layout / Web Designer

FORUM-ASIA is hiring a Layout / web Designer for its online publication of a report on Freedom of Expression in Southeast Asia. The Layout / web Designer will be responsible for the online layout of the report which will be hosted in one of FORUM-ASIA’s websites. The layout designer will be provided the articles and the content bimonthly from March to June 2020. The designer must have excellent skills on web design and graphic design.
